Empowering Future Hoteliers through Real-World Learning
At Cora Cora Maldives, we’re committed to creating impactful change through education. As part of our CSR commitment, we proudly launched our very first Cora Cora Maldives Internship in collaboration with R. Rasgetheemu School—a program designed to empower local students through hands-on exposure to the world of hospitality.
Over five immersive days, four bright students stepped into the daily rhythm of our resort operations. Through this internship program, they gained real experience in front office, culinary, housekeeping, guest services, and even behind-the-scenes finance—truly a comprehensive dive into the world of Maldivian hospitality.
A Hands-On Journey through the Cora Cora Maldives Internship
Front Office – First Impressions Matter
The Cora Cora Maldives Internship began in our lively Front Office, where students shadowed our Freedom Coach. They took part in check-ins, guest greetings, and room tours—learning the value of genuine hospitality and creating welcoming moments.
Later that evening, the students enjoyed a fun team cooking night with the Front Office crew, showcasing how teamwork and learning often go hand-in-hand at our resort.
Housekeeping & Health – Behind the Scenes of Comfort
Students explored the health, safety, and hygiene protocols that keep guests comfortable and safe. From hazard identification to proper handwashing, this day focused on the essentials of cleanliness and care.
In addition, they joined our Housekeeping team to decorate beds and fold towel art—those little touches that transform a room into a feel-good space.
Kitchen Training – Taste, Timing, and Teamwork
Midway through the Cora Cora Maldives Internship, students entered our vibrant kitchen. Guided by our F&B Manager, they prepared their own dishes and learned the importance of kitchen coordination, food presentation, and flavor.
As a result, they discovered that hospitality also includes creating memorable experiences through food—an essential part of Maldives tourism.
F&B Service – Connecting Through Hospitality
Building on their culinary experience, students moved into service. They learned to take orders, deliver dishes, and connect with guests.
More importantly, they learned that hospitality is not just about following procedures—it’s about creating joy through authentic, friendly interactions.
The Business of Hospitality – What Runs the Show
The final day of the Cora Cora Maldives Internship introduced students to the back-end of resort operations. From procurement and stock management to vendor coordination, students discovered how finance and logistics play a key role in hospitality success.
This well-rounded experience gave them a new appreciation for how each department works in harmony to deliver unforgettable guest moments.
Celebrating the Start of Something Special
The internship concluded with a heartfelt closing ceremony, where each student received a Certificate of Completion in the presence of our Heads of Departments. This moment celebrated not just what they learned—but the bright future ahead of them.
It also marked a milestone for our CSR journey, strengthening our promise to uplift local talent.
